BEEHAB STRATEGIC RESERVES

Trillion Bees Earth, a newly launched nonprofit organization, proudly announces its mission to support global biodiversity, enhance pollinator populations, and reduce pollination costs for farmers. Through community-driven projects, the organization is working to restore pollinator habitats and promote ecological and agricultural sustainability, creating significant environmental and economic benefits.

Pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and other insects are essential to food production, supporting over 75% of global food crops. Trillion Bees Earth aims to reverse the alarming decline in pollinator populations by creating a global reserve of honeybees. This initiative will help lower pollination costs and strengthen the food system for farmers and consumers alike.

Fifty years ago, the United States had over 8 million healthy, thriving beehives. Today, as of 2024, this number has plummeted to just 2–3 million hives, with 40–50% (or 1–1.5 million hives) dying annually. Beekeepers tirelessly rebuild these hives to maintain their critical role in growing the food we depend on.

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) Analogy

The U.S. protects its energy supply through the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), an emergency stockpile maintained by the Department of Energy. Similarly, 40% of all U.S. crops are entirely dependent on honeybees for production. Without honeybees, 40% of the nation’s food supply would disappear. However, unlike petroleum, there is currently no emergency stockpile of honeybees to safeguard against catastrophic losses—until now.

Beehab Strategic Reserves™: A Regenerative Agriculture and Sustainable Beekeeping Model
Central to Trillion Bees Earth’s mission is the Beehab Strategic Reserve (BSR) initiative, an innovative project that establishes sustainable, community-supported beekeeping lands. These reserves, located in pesticide-free, natural, and ranch lands across the U.S., provide safe environments where pollinators can thrive, free from environmental hazards.

Through regenerative beekeeping practices, the reserves:

  • Promote pollinator health.
  • Increase local biodiversity.
  • Serve as educational hubs for communities.
  • Protect the U.S. food supply

By creating protected habitats and supporting responsible beekeeping, the Beehab Strategic Reserves initiative strengthens pollinator populations and fosters resilient ecosystems.

Goals and Vision
Trillion Bees Earth, in partnership with other organizations, aims to establish 50+ million acres of pesticide-free, non-GMO bee habitats in the U.S. by 2033. These lands will support 6.5+ million healthy, thriving non-GMO beehives, safeguarding the U.S. food supply and creating robust pollinator populations. Globally, the organization envisions and aims to grow and create 80 million non-GMO beehives across 1+ billion acres of BSRs habitat by 2040.

Innovative Donor Opportunity

Trillion Bees Earth provides donors with a distinctive chance to support pollinator conservation while earning a financial return on their contributions. Key features of this initiative include:

  • Free Thank-You Gift Beehives:
    • For every $1,000 donated, supporters receive a Free Thank-You Gift beehive.
    • Example:
      • A $100,000 donation receives 100 beehives.
      • A $1 million donation receives 1,000 beehives.
  • Beehive Growth and Maintenance:
    • Beehives assigned to the Beehab Strategic Reserve (BSR) program will grow 3x over five years, becoming three full-size, insured, honey-producing hives.
    • These hives are cared for and maintained within the Beehab Reserve network.
  • Revenue-Producing Assets:
    • Donors' hives generate revenue through honey production, which is purchased for approximately $1.00 per pound.
    • Over six years, honey revenue is projected to equal 100% of the initial donation.
  • Projected Returns:
    • After the hive matures in Year 5, honey revenue is projected to generate an annual return of 8% to 14%+.
    • Mature hives, as insured and revenue-producing assets, have a projected value of $750 to $1,500 per hive.
  • Ownership and Flexibility:
    • Donors own their hives within the BSRs for as long as they choose.
    • If donors opt to sell their hives, Trillion Bees Earth (TBE) or approved partners will purchase them at Fair Market Value.

This initiative blends meaningful environmental impact with sustainable financial benefits, creating a win-win opportunity for donors and pollinator conservation.

An Investment in Planet Earth

Now, individuals, approved corporations, and funds have the opportunity to allocate their financial resources for charitable purposes, providing critical support that yields tangible and valuable returns. The bees and pollinators nurtured and protected through the Beehab Strategic Reserve (BSR) initiative express their "thanks" for generations to come through their thriving lives and honey production.

“Our Beehab Strategic Reserve initiative allows donors to make a meaningful impact on the environment while receiving a modest financial return,” said Davey Hackenberg Jr., Director of Bees Earth and Hackenberg Apiaries. “It’s a way to blend charitable giving with sustainable investment, supporting vital pollinator populations.”
